On the ground floor, adjacent to the kitchen, the sitting room/lounge was originally used as an office by the registrar to register all the births and deaths for the Parish. Reportedly there are ink stains on the floorboards under the carpet where his desk once stood. The room to the rear of the house was used as the registrar’s breakfast room and has the original fireplace that was used for cooking. |
